Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has received some good news ahead of Saturday’s trip to Manchester City, with both James Milner and Jordon Ibe expected to be fit.
The Liverpool Echo are reporting that they each completed a full training session on Monday afternoon at Melwood.
A hamstring injury to Milner forced him to sit out the Reds’ defeat against Crystal Palace before the international break, and he also had to withdraw from the England squad.
Ibe picked up a knock in the Palace game and missed England Under-21s’ fixtures against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Switzerland respectively.
The club’s medical staff will keep a close eye on the pair throughout the week, but both could be in the squad to face City barring any problems.
It will come as welcome news to Klopp, who is currently without Mamadou Sakho, Danny Ings and Joe Gomez due to long-term injuries.
Skipper Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge and Jon Flanagan are all expected to make a return from injury before the club’s busy Christmas period.
The German will hope that those on international duty will return in good nick. Joe Allen, Christian Benteke, Simon Mignolet, Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana and Martin Skrtel are among those away playing for their respective countries.
