The 24-year-old had been on loan at Southampton but was not seeing enough first-team football to justify him being at Ronald Koeman’s side, thus QPR recalled the former Tottenham Hotspur centre-back and loaned him to the Reds.

Liverpool’s issues in central defence have been well publicised with Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho, Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure all missing the recent FA Cup tie with Exeter City, which forced Jurgen Klopp to deploy recently recalled Tiago Ilori and left-back Jose Enrique as a makeshift pairing.
Caulker found himself behind Jose Fonte and Virgil van Dijk in the pecking order at Southampton, and he might not see too much action when Lovren, Sakho and Skrtel return.
However, with Kolo Toure likely to leave the club in the summer, he will have an opportunity to impress Klopp enough to consider bringing him in as a permanent replacement for the Ivorian.
