Liverpool forward Joao Teixeira has been linked with a move to Championship side Huddersfield Town.
According to a report from the Huddersfield Examiner, the Portuguese youngster could make a permanent switch to the John Smith’s Stadium in the summer when his contract with Liverpool expires.
The 23-year-old has been a bit-part player for the Reds for the majority of his career and has largely featured in cup games.
His only Premier League appearance this season was a three-minute cameo at the end of the 2-0 defeat to Leicester City and with the Reds expected to strengthen in the attacking areas this summer, Teixeira will probably be allowed to leave.
Huddersfield are managed by David Wagner, a former colleague of Jurgen Klopp. The pair are very good friends – Wagner was the German’s best man at his wedding, and there has been talk of the Reds sending players on loan to the Terriers, which could be a useful relationship for both clubs.
However, a move for Teixeira in the summer would be a permanent one, and the forward does have experience playing in the second tier after his recent loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion.
