Liverpool have been hit by the international break injury bug once again as the Belgian duo of Christian Benteke and Divock Origi have both withdrawn from their national team squad due to injuries.

As reported in the Mirror, Origi left the squad with a thigh injury whilst there was also concern that Benteke would miss the re-arranged clash with Portugal with a knee issue.

It has since been confirmed that the former Aston Villa man has also withdrawn from the squad.

Liverpool fans are all too aware of the dangers of losing players on international duty. Earlier this season, defender Joe Gomez suffered a serious knee injury whilst he was away with the England Under-21s.

Liverpool were also left furious back in 2014 when Daniel Sturridge was injured whilst taking part in a high-intensity training session for England.
