Liverpool have reportedly made a bid to Lorient for left-back Raphael Guerreiro.

According to Alex Hayes, the vice president of the French side, Liverpool are one of a number of clubs have approached him with an offer for the Portuguese international.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Hayes said:

For now, four major foreign clubs, including Dortmund and Liverpool have made an offer, the fourth is expected soon to do so.

Guerreiro, 22, will be part of Portugal’s squad for Euro 2016 and will be battling with Eliseu for a starting role, although he is the most likely to win the duel to be first choice at the tournament.

Guerreiro, who can also play as a left winger, made 41 appearances in all competitions for Lorient last season, scoring three goals.

He is a very attacking left-back, which won’t be great news for Alberto Moreno as Guerreiro looks to be a replacement for the Spaniard rather than someone who brings something different to the table.

With links to Jonas Hector seemingly quieting down, Guerreiro could well be the left-back who Jurgen Klopp has his eye on.

Who would you prefer to see at left-back for Liverpool next season?
