Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain is interested in joining Liverpool, according to a report from David Anderson of The Mirror.

The 28-year-old is keen to quit Napoli and, according to Anderson, he is willing to move to Anfield even though Liverpool will not be competing in European competition next season.

Liverpool are likely to sell Christian Benteke this summer, with West Ham interested which could open up a place in their squad for the former Real Madrid star.

Higuain, who set a Serie A record with 36 goals in 35 games this season, is apparently keen to work with new Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, something which will please Liverpool fans who have often heard that players often don’t fancy a move to Anfield.

Napoli don’t want to lose their star man, for obvious reasons, but he seems keen to force through a move away from the club, it remains to be seen if he can get his wish.
