Liverpool set to ‘step up’ interest in Moussa Sissoko
After recent links about the possibility of Georginio Wijnaldum moving to Liverpool, it appears that the Reds might be interested in signing one of his teammates too.
There were reports released around a fortnight ago which suggested that The Reds were looking into the possibility of signing Moussa Sissoko, but after the links to Wijnaldum, most fans thought the possibility of the Frenchman moving to Anfield had ended.
However, according to ESPN FC, sources from Newcastle are saying that Liverpool and Juventus are stepping up their interest in signing the French international.
Rafael Benitez’s side are aware of the interest in their player, and value Sissoko at around £23m, which seems way too much for Liverpool to play.
Frenchman Sissoko has featured in 113 games for Newcastle United, netting 11 times since making the switch from Ligue 1 side Toulouse in 2013.
The Magpies will not want to lose both Sissoko and Wijnaldum but it appears that both have no intention of playing Championship football next season.
