Who was Liverpool’s best player against Spurs?
Liverpool were denied an impressive victory against Tottenham Hotspur after Danny Rose’s second-half strike cancelled out James Milner’s penalty at White Hart Lane.
The referee pointed to the spot when Erik Lamela brought down Roberto Firmino just before the break, and Milner duly converted to fire the Reds in front.
The away side were dominant for much of the contest, with Philippe Coutinho denied by a superb stop from Michel Vorm and Premier League debutant Joel Matip hitting the crossbar with a header.
However, they were unable to grab that all-important second goal and were punished with twenty minutes remaining as Rose drove the ball home from Eric Dier’s cross.
