Who was Liverpool’s best player against West Brom?
Liverpool moved level on points with Premier League leaders Arsenal courtesy of a 2-1 victory over West Brom at Anfield.
Sadio Mane expertly steered home Roberto Firmino’s cross to open the scoring for the Reds before Philippe Coutinho beat two West Brom defenders and fired the ball past Ben Foster to double the home side’s lead.
Jurgen Klopp’s men had an array of chances to put the result beyond any doubt in the second half, and West Brom threatened a late comeback when Gareth McAuley volleyed in from a corner.
Liverpool hung on to return to winning ways after Monday’s goalless draw with Manchester United, though McAuley’s goal means Arsenal remain top on goal difference.
