Liverpool are through to the FA Cup fourth round after a 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle in the third round replay at Home Park.
Jurgen Klopp once again played a mixed side with some first team players joined by those on the fringes and some youngsters too.
Philippe Coutinho, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge were all in the side but it wasn’t any of that trio who opened the scoring.
Instead, Liverpool took the lead from the most unlikeliest of sources in the 18th minute when Lucas got his first goal in seven years. The Brazilian made a good near post run and powered home his header from the corner of his fellow countryman Coutinho.
Plymouth’s best chance came when Jake Jervis hit the post with a very good acrobatic shot but other than that, they didn’t create a lot.
Liverpool got a penalty late on when Yann Songo’o smashed into Alberto Moreno but Divock Origi saw his poor kick saved.
Here are my player ratings from the game:
Loris Karius – 6
Made the easy saves he had to and dealt with most things in the air, although he looked a touch shaky at times.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7
Made a very good tackle inside the six yard box to prevent a tap in. His anticipation on crosses was excellent all night. He was a threat going forward too and was unlucky not to find Sturridge with a pull back.
Lucas – 7
Got his goal with an excellent run and header and defended well throughout the game.

Joe Gomez – 7
Had a few iffy moments but overall he dealt well with the physical challenge from Garita.
Alberto Moreno – 6
Got targeted in the first half with balls in the air and struggled to cope but improved in the second half and won the penalty.
Kevin Stewart – 5
Worked hard in a defensive role but his use of the ball was pretty poor.
Ovie Ejaria – 6
Was neat and tidy and his movement was very good. Played almost in the Henderson role in the second half and looked comfortable.
Ben Woodburn – 6
Started wide on the right but ended up in almost a midfield role in the second half.

Philippe Coutinho – 6
Got an hour of football under his belt. Showed some nice touches but wasn’t quite as sharp as usual.
Divock Origi – 6
Played in about five different positions throughout the game so found it difficult to settle. His penalty was really poor but he almost made up for it with a nice turn and shot later on.
Daniel Sturridge – 5
Didn’t quite impose himself on the game. He did have a few chances and his use of the ball was pretty good but he’ll be annoyed not to get on the score sheet.
(Sub) Harry Wilson – 7
Almost scored when he pressed the goalkeeper and his kick hit Wilson and went over the bar. Looked really lively with some excellent runs, dummies and touches.
(Sub) Sheyi Ojo – 6
Had the beating of his man quite often. Got booked for a pretty obvious dive
