Jurgen Klopp on Barcelona’s radar
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has emerged as a potential target for European giants Barcelona, the Daily Mirror claims.
Current boss Luis Enrique finds himself under mounting pressure following a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of PSG, the latest setback in a frustrating campaign which has seen defending champions fail to match arch rivals Real Madrid.
Klopp is reportedly one of the names on an extensive list of prospective replacements, with Everton boss Ronald Koeman also mooted as a potential option.
It is understood that the German’s heroics as Borussia Dortmund manager caught the eye of the Catalan club, and the admiration is mutual, with Klopp taking his squad to watch their Champions League clash with Borussia Monchengladbach in December.
Nonetheless, given that Klopp inked a bumper six-year contract extension last July, the chances of prizing him away from Anfield are slim.
The 49-year old has also spoken of his long-term commitment to the club, seeking to transform them into a title-winning force once again.
This may be little more than the latest product of the ever-turning Liverpool rumour mill.
