Dejan Lovren to see specialist over knee injury
Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has flown to German to see a specialist about the knee issue which has kept him out of recent games for the Reds.
The Croatian missed the loss at Hull City and the win over Tottenham with the injury and he was one of the few players who didn’t travel to La Manga for the training camp last week.
As reported by Ian Doyle of the Liverpool Echo, the 27-year-old hasn’t yet been ruled out of the game with Leicester City in seven days time, but he’s still not fully over the issue.
Liverpool’s defence has been hit by injuries, illness and questions about eligibly all season.
Jurgen Klopp sees Lovren and Joel Matip as his first-choice centre-back pairing with Ragnar Klavan as the backup and Lucas fourth choice. However, the manager has had to mix and match throughout the campaign so he’ll be hoping Lovren is ready to play next week.
