Today marked three years since Liverpool thrashed Manchester United 3-0 on their own turf in March 2014.

With Tuesday marking the eighth year since the Reds’ 4-1 humiliation of United in 2009, we revisit another memorable afternoon at Old Trafford.

This game further demonstrated the title credentials that Brendan Rodgers’ side had, despite the challenge many thought they’d be confronted with prior to kick off.

Instead Liverpool made a mockery of David Moyes’ Manchester United – the win felt even sweeter added to the fact that United looked enviously up the table from seventh, behind our neighbours from across Stanley Park.

Steven Gerrard struck twice from the penalty spot, however he missed the opportunity to make it a hat-trick of penalties when his third crashed against the post.

No matter though; Luis Suarez had the last, scornful – from a Man United fan’s point of view – say on a day to remember at Old Trafford.

Here’s a look as to how the XI of then have moved on pastures new. Who remains in the squad to this day?
