Liverpool host Everton in the Merseyside Derby this weekend with the visitors looking for their first win at Anfield since 1999.
The international break took its toll on both sides as Liverpool will be without Adam Lallana after he picked up a thigh injury whilst the Blues lost both Seamus Coleman and Ramiro Funes Mori for the season.
The Reds also look set to be without captain Jordan Henderson as he’s yet to train, but Daniel Sturridge is back in contention after recovering from a hip injury.
With all that being said, which XI will Jurgen Klopp select?
Here’s the team I think he’ll pick:
Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet
The Belgian is the number one for now. If he has a good end to the season, he could be the number one next season too.
Right Back: Nathaniel Clyne
Clyne didn’t see any game time for England over the course of the international break so he should be feeling pretty fresh.
Centre Back: Joel Matip
Matip is the nailed on first choice. He missed December’s win over the Blues so this will be his first taste of a Merseyside derby.
Centre Back: Ragnar Klavan
Dean Lovren is back fit but I think the manager will stick with Ragnar Klavan. He’s done pretty well recently and has formed a decent partnership with Joel Matip.
Left Back: James Milner
Milner’s job should be a bit easier as Seamus Coleman is out but he’ll still need to be on his game. There’s a good chance he might be needed to ta
Midfield: Lucas
With Jordan Henderson looking like he’ll miss the game and with Lallana out, I see Klopp playing Lucas at the base of the midfield.
Midfield: Emre Can
Emre has played well in the deeper role in recent weeks but I think he’ll be pushed forward for this game.
Midfield: Gini Wijnaldum
Gini Wijnaldum has been in great form in recent weeks, let’s hope that continues!
Right Forward: Sadio Mane
The man who won the reverse fixture for the Reds in December. The same again here would be nice!
Left Forward: Philippe Coutinho
Philippe Coutinho hasn’t played well in his last few outings for the Reds. Let’s hope the goal he scored playing for Brazil in midweek has given him a confidence boost.
Forward: Roberto Firmino
Firmino looks set to be leading the line for the Reds. He needs to put pressure on Everton’s centre-backs as neither of them are exactly quick on their feet.
