The young Liverpool forward emerged onto the scene in the summer of 2016 with impressive pre-season performances against Tranmere Rovers and Fleetwood Town, grabbing a goal and an assist against the latter.
Woodburn had a big November as he signed his first professional contract with Liverpool, made his official debut, and became the Reds’ youngest ever goal scorer after scoring the last goal in a 2-0 victory over Leeds United in the quarterfinals of the EFL cup.
The Welshman’s star has only shone brighter since November as he was not only called up to the Welsh national team for the first time for a World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland, but he was also nominated for the 2017 European Golden Boy award.
Bale has clearly taken notice of his countryman’s ability and is eager to play with him at the Santiago Bernabeu as he has warned Real Madrid president Florentino Perez that their eternal rivals FC Barcelona will sign him if they do not act fast.
Claimed to be valued at around a lowly fee of £1 million, the Spanish giants would hardly have trouble in paying the transfer fee for Woodburn.
However, such a move for the 17-year-old is unlikely as it is only his first professional season at Liverpool and his contract does not run out until 2019.
