Liverpool youngster turned down PSG to stay at Reds
Liverpool’s young midfielder Ovie Ejaria turned down a move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain and chose to stay at the Anfield club in 2015, according to a report on This Is Anfield.
French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain were interested in signing the central midfielder a year after he joined Liverpool from Premier League rivals Arsenal, but he snubbed their advances as he wanted to break into the first team at the Merseyside club.
The 19-year-old made his debut for the Premier League side last season in the League Cup and went on to make two substitute appearances in the English top-flight.
Ejaria is looking to feature more regularly in the upcoming season with Liverpool challenging in all competitions SO Jurgen Klopp will be turning to his youngsters.
“We made an approach for Ovie two years ago – he didn’t want to leave England,” a source close to PSG revealed.
Ejaria was part of the England U20 side which won the World Cup this year and is one of Liverpool’s finest young talents and to see that they are determined to fight for a spot in the team must be extremely pleasing for Klopp and for the fans.
Ejaria is a confident and skilful midfielder and has all the tools to become a fantastic player and it looks like Klopp is ready to give him his opportunity to step up.
