Robertson is widely expected to leave Hull this summer following their relegation back to the Championship.
The Reds had been linked with a move for the Scottish international as they go in search of a replacement for Alberto Moreno, with the Spaniard expected to leave Anfield this summer.
Liverpool have been forced to play James Milner on several occasions throughout last season and Jurgen Klopp has identified it as one key area that the club have to strengthen this summer.
