Liverpool make €100m bid for Kylian Mbappe
Liverpool have had a €100m (£87.9m) bid rejected by Monaco for striker Kylian Mbappe, according to a report in MARCA.
The Reds have apparently been told that the French champions will not consider selling the teenage striker for anything less than the world record fee that Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba last summer, which MARCA say was around €114m.
Furthermore, the report states that Mbappe has told Dmitri Rybolovlev, owner of the Ligue 1 team, that he is happy at the club and that he would only consider a move if European champions Real Madrid were interested in buying him.
However, with the 2018 World Cup on the horizon, Mbappe wants to be playing regular first-team football and that would not necessarily be the case if he moved to Madrid as the La Liga champions have a plethora of attacking talent.
Liverpool boast some pretty special attacking players themselves but Mbappe would still be a huge addition if, somehow, the Reds could get a deal done, however unlikely it seems at this stage!
