With Mohamed Salah’s club-record £39m move from Roma set to be completed in the next few days, Liverpool are being linked with another swoop on the Serie A side.

The Daily Star have noted that Liverpool are interested in signing central midfielder Leandro Paredes this summer.

Paredes arrived in Europe during the January transfer window in 2014 when he left Boca Juniors to join Chievo on loan until the end of the season and did enough during that six-month stint to earn a permanent transfer to Roma that summer.

The 22-year-old midfielder has continued to improve over the last three seasons and broke into the Argentina national squad this summer, scoring on his international debut earlier this month.

Liverpool aren’t alone in their pursuit of the midfielder, with Juventus and Zenit St. Petersburg also said to be interested, claims Italian source TMW.

Under contract at Roma until 2019, Paredes could leave for as little as £22m this summer, say Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by Daily Star.

After being rebuffed in their attempts to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, Liverpool may press ahead with a move for Paredes considering his relatively low asking price.
