Barcelona shelve plans to sign Philippe Coutinho
Liverpool fans can take a huge sigh of relief following Barcelona’s decision to shelve a move for Philippe Coutinho, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The Spanish giants were rumoured to be very keen to add the Brazilian playmaker to their squad of stars this summer but the Reds have made it extremely clear to Barcelona that there is no deal to be done for their star player.
The Brazilian is settled in Merseyside and has not publicly expressed a desire to leave Anfield during the current window and with Barcelona now turning their attention to Paris Saint-Germain’s midfielder Marco Verratti, it’s looking highly likely that he’ll be staying at Anfield for at least one more year.
Coutinho is currently away on his summer break, with team mate and Spanish full back Alberto Moreno and will report back on Merseyside for pre-season training at the beginning of next month.
