Klopp willing to accept £7m for Markovic
According to the Hertfordshire Mercury, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reduced his asking price for Lazar Markovic and both Watford and Hull are interested in signing the former Benfica man.
Klopp confirmed at the weekend that he would like to offload the Serbian this summer if the right offer came in.
The Reds wanted to recoup as much of the £20m that the paid to bring in Markovic in 2014 but it’s looking likely that he will leave Anfield for just a third of that.
Markovic has only made 34 appearances in the three years he’s been at the club, scoring three times and assisting once. He has had loan spells to Fenerbache, Sporting Lisbon and Hull, where he worked under Watford boss Marco Silva last year.
The Serbian was available for £12m but due to lack of interest, Klopp has dropped that price down to £7m with the hope that clubs will be more willing to come forward with an offer.
Markovic played against Tranmere in a pre season friendly but did not get a place in their pre season tour squad that travelled to Hong Kong for the PL Asia Trophy, which they won on Saturday after a 2-1 win over Leicester.
