Liverpool winger Ryan Kent has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

It has been confirmed in an official statement that Kent has put pen to paper on extending his deal, though there is no mention of how many years it will be in effect.

It was reported earlier this summer by the Daily Mail that a number of Championship sides are interested in signing Kent on loan, with the midfielder unlikely to see much first-team action at Anfield.

It was said that Leeds, Hull, Brighton and Birmingham have shown an interest in signing him but Leeds are the only club to have made a firm approach.

Leeds made a loan offer for the winger, but there has been no update on that deal over the last few weeks.

Kent spent last season on-loan to Barnsley in the Championship, where he impressed – attracting the interest of a number of clubs.
