Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has been rewarded for his efforts in English football with an induction into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame.

The Reds legend, who spent the duration of his career at the club bar one short tenure with LA Galaxy, has become an iconic ambassador for the English game, and is set to be acknowledged once again for his efforts in an official ceremony on Thursday.

Gerrard is currently the boss of Liverpool’s Under-18 set-up, and is looking to push on with his ambitions of a successful career in coaching.

The ex-England international won a plethora of major honours at Liverpool, both on an individual and team basis, and is regarded as one of football’s greatest ever talents.

Gerrard spent 17 years with Liverpool and made an incredible 710 appearances during a long and successful spell at Anfield.
