Liverpool team news: Spartak Moscow (A)
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has delivered an update on the condition of his squad ahead of the game against Spartak Moscow on Tuesday night.
The Reds will be hoping to secure their first win of the Champions League group stages against the Russian outfit, but will be well aware of the difficulties they will face against Spartak.
Klopp addressed the media out in Moscow and, as quoted by Liverpool’s official website, discussed the Reds’ team news.
The German confirmed that Sadio Mane, who has been sidelined through suspension in Liverpool’s domestic campaigns, will be available for selection.
He’s back and available again – and if he is available it makes sense to bring him from the beginning, but we will see.
Klopp also confirmed that as a result of Joe Gomez’s suspension for the tie, young right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is in line to start against Spartak.
It’s likely but at the moment nothing is sure. But probably.
Although Klopp remained coy over revealing too much regarding his team selection, he did confirm that as expected, Loris Karius will take Simon Mignolet’s place in goal for the game.
