Liverpool plotting £10m move for David Brooks
Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn is one of Wales’ most promising young players since the emergence of Gareth Bale over a decade ago, but the Reds are said to be targeting a move for another talented youngster from the Wales setup.
After a breakthrough 18 months with Sheffield United, David Brooks has emerged on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, say the Mirror.
Brooks came through the Manchester City academy but the 20-year-old left their U18s setup to join Sheffield United in 2014 and hasn’t looked back since.
Called up to the Wales squad for the first time in October, Brooks is also wanted by Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle but it’s believed that Liverpool are preparing a £10m January bid for the highly-rated attacking midfielder.
Everton tried to bring Brooks to the Premier League in the summer and failed with a bid, and Sheffield United are firm on their stance that he will not leave the club in the January transfer window either.
