Can: I love playing for Liverpool
Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has admitted that he loves playing for the club.
Speculation has been rife surrounding Can’s future at Anfield, with clubs such as Juventus reportedly maintaining their interest in him.
Can is currently in the final year of his deal with the Reds, and it doesn’t look as though any further progress in contract negotiations has been made. This means that, providing a deal is not penned by then, he can discuss a pre-contract with other European sides in the January transfer window.
However, as quoted by the Daily Mail, Can has made it clear that he loves being a Liverpool player.
I made forward steps in my three years here. It is my fourth season now in Liverpool and I played a lot of games. I am really enjoying being here. It is a great club.
Why should my commitment be any different? I have a contract I playing for the club, I earn my money here and I love to play for Liverpool.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man is held in high regard at Anfield, and remains a key player in Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the club. He’ll be hoping that Can commits his future to Liverpool in the near future.
However, with Naby Keita on his way in the summer, it looks as though depth in midfield won’t be an issue for the Reds if Can does decide to move on.
