Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have joined the race to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.
According to The Mirror, Dortmund are now interested in Can and are set to battle it out for his signature.
The report claims that Can is stalling on a new contract with Liverpool, which has alerted some of the big clubs in Europe.
Juventus and Manchester City have also been linked with Can, although Manchester City would be unable to secure a pre-contract agreement in January.
Foreign clubs are able to sign Can up on a pre-contract in January, allowing the midfielder to join on a free transfer next summer.
Can’s contract expires at the end of the season and the report claims that he is hesitant over signing an extension.
He is open to a return to Germany – with Dortmund interested – though Juventus is also an attractive proposition.
The Mirror also claim that Can would only sign a new deal with Liverpool if a release clause was inserted.
