Ings praised for his role in Liverpool’s U-23s
Neil Critchley has described Danny Ings as a role model to younger players as the striker continues his recovery.
As quoted by the Mail Online, Critchley is full of praise for the striker, who has been playing for the club’s U-23 side as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.
He is looking fitter and more confident about himself so I’m delighted with Danny. Danny is chasing back in the last minute and helping out for the team. He is a great influence in the dressing room.
He sets the bar for all the other players all round him and there’s no excuse for anyone else when he’s chasing all over the pitch and closing down the centre-halves. He is a great role model for our younger players.
A serious knee injury has kept the former Burnley man sidelined for months, tarnishing his Liverpool career so far.
The striker has only managed to featured for Liverpool once this season, coming off the bench against Leicester in the Carabao Cup.
Liverpool’s U-23s currently sit top of the Premier League 2, the youth equivalent of the Premier League.
The striker has been linked with moves away from the club in January, with several clubs thought to be interested in taking him on loan.
A temporary move away from the club could be just what he needs to break back into Jurgen Klopp’s plans.
