Liverpool are set to investigate claims of ‘heavy-handed’ policing by security forces in and around the ground during the Reds’ Champions League game with Sevilla on Tuesday night, AS report.

Many Liverpool groups complained about the lack of organisation from the Spanish side, with fans stating they were told they could go and sit or stand anywhere in the section, describing it as ‘chaos’.

Liverpool threw away a three-goal lead against Sevilla as the La Liga side fought back to snatch a point in the last minute of an electric game.

Numerous fans have complained about how the police moved them away from the entrance points for no reason with others saying they witnessed fellow supporters being beaten by members of the riot police during the game.

Supporters also added that they were herded into a sector with little or no respect for the seat and row numbers issued on their match-day tickets.
