Liverpool target Ryan Sessegnon has no release clause
Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon after it was revealed that the full-back has no release clause in his current contract, according to a report on the International Business Times.
17-year-old Sessegnon was in the news this week after scoring a hat-trick for Fulham in their 4-5 victory over Sheffield United.
The teenage left-back has already made 50 appearances for Championship club Fulham and his performance on Tuesday has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.
The Reds invested in a new left-back in the summer through Andy Robertson from Hull, but he has failed to leave a positive impression on manager Jurgen Klopp, who has continued to select Alberto Moreno in that position.
Moreno had a night to forget on the same day that Sessegnon bagged a treble as Liverpool surrendered a three-goal advantage in the UEFA Champions League against Sevilla, with two of the goals being blamed on Moreno.
The fact that England under-17s star Sessegnon doesn’t have a release clause is good for Fulham, because they can now dictate the price of their star player.
Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing him in the summer and reportedly had a £25m offer turned down by the London club.
The youngster is focused on attempting to help Fulham back into the Premier League but with the big clubs all battling for his signature, a move could be on the cards very soon.
