This weekend, Liverpool will host Chelsea in an eagerly anticipated match-up.
The Merseyside club sit three points behind their opponents and know that the home advantage could play a key part in getting a victory.
However, Liverpool come into the game on the back of a morale-breaking 3-3 draw with Sevilla after leading 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League, whereas Chelsea have had their confidence boosted following an easy 4-0 victory over Qarabag in the same competition.
In their last league fixtures, Liverpool comfortably beat Southampton 3-0 at Anfield thanks to a brace from one of the signings of the season – Mohamed Salah.
As for Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, they also come into the game after a victory. The Blues dispatched West Bromwich Albion comfortably 4-0 thanks to a wonderful performance from Eden Hazard.
Liverpool and Chelsea both have brilliant players, but if they were merged into one team, who would make the cut?
Take a look at our combined line-up ahead of Saturday’s encounter!
GK - Thibaut Courtois
The Belgian shot-stopper has been a reliable pair of hands ever since he signed for the club. Recent clean sheets against Manchester United and West Brom will be pleasing to see for Conte.
RB - Cesar Azpilicueta
Mr Reliable. Azpilicueta never seems to have an off-day. His versatility means he can play anywhere in the defensive line but on the right, he can get forward and link up with Alvaro Morata as he has done so many times this season.
CB - Andreas Christensen
The centre half has returned from his loan spell as a complete defender. He can head the ball, pass the ball confidently but also clean up at the back effectively. An all round good defender.
CB - Gary Cahill
The Englishman started the season slowly but has found his groove as the season develops. Been a rock at the back recently and always a threat from set-pieces.
LB - Marcos Alonso
The left-back has already scored three times this season. Does a good job defensively and gets the team up the pitch quickly with his pace.
CDM - N'Golo Kante
The main man. Without Kante, Chelsea were struggling, but it is no coincidence that since he has returned they have looked solid in all areas of the pitch.
CM - Philippe Coutinho
The magician. Coutinho produces moments of magic out of nothing, which is why Liverpool are adamant not to sell him. Comes into the game in good form after netting against Southampton.
RW - Mo Salah
Probably the signing of the season. Salah has scored 13 times in all competitions for Liverpool this season and will be eager to show his former club what they missed out on.
CAM - Eden Hazard
The Belgian is finding his form. Hazard made a slow start to the season, but his brace against West Brom will be a huge lift for his confidence. Beginning to form a great connection with Alvaro Morata.
LW - Sadio Mane
The Speedster. Mane forms an incredible forward line alongside Salah and can be devastating in front of goal, as West Ham fans will know all about. Scored in midweek so will be high in confidence.
ST - Alvaro Morata
Settled in effortlessly at Chelsea. The striker is a handful for defenders and is clinical up front. Scored eight league goals this season. He is quite like a certain former Liverpool and Chelsea forward, who was also from Spain…
