Milner hails the return of Adam Lallana
England and Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is set to make his long awaited return from injury this week as the Reds’ face Chelsea at Anfield.
James Milner has been talking about his teammates return ahead of a run of busy games to the BBC.
Speaking ahead of Lallana’s return Milner said;
“We’ve had an up and down start to the season and we’ve had injuries.
“Adam Lallana is coming back for us now and that’s fantastic for us.
“He’s a massive player for us, he makes us tick with and without the ball.
Lallana has been completing some work abroad in order to be able to come back quicker than it was originally expected.
Milner added;
“If we can keep everyone fit, now it is the business part of the season for us and we will have a better idea after Christmas [about our targets] but obviously Liverpool Football Club wants to win trophies.”
Lallana comes back into Jurgen Klopp’s thinking at a good time and offers him a real selection headache ahead of a busy schedule of fixtures.
Lallana will be looking to hit the ground running and play himself back into Gareth Southgate’s plans for next years World Cup squad.
