Salah does not have to prove Chelsea wrong says Klopp
Mohamed Salah shouldn’t be searching for revenge when Liverpool face off against Chelsea at Anfield on Saturday night, according to Jurgen Klopp.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Klopp does not blame the current Premier League champions for the winger’s inability to make an impact during his first spell in England.
It was difficult in those times to get into the (Chelsea) team. They had fantastic offensive players. They were successful in this time. No-one is to blame for that, especially not Mo.
I don’t think he has to prove something, I don’t think he sees it like that. It’s a completely normal situation. In the end he succeeded and now he’s at Liverpool. If he had played better at Chelsea, we probably wouldn’t have him so I’m happy about the situation.
Chelsea beat Liverpool the player’s signature back in 2014 but the Egyptian failed to break into the starting 11 at Stamford Bridge.
After two subsequent loan spells away from Chelsea he was later sold to Roma, where he got his career back on track.
Since he returned to the Premier League in the summer, Salah has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season.
The winger has netted 13 times in all competitions and is currently the league’s top goalscorer.
The former Chelsea man has also scored in both his previous appearances against his former club, while he was playing for Basel.
