Liverpool Football Club have been granted permission to build 160 homes on the site of their Melwood training ground.

It was today confirmed that the club have received approval from the chair committee. The approval was passed unanimously with a condition that 160 homes will be kept in the process.

This latest process means that Liverpool move to a new training ground at Kirkby edges closer and closer as the club look to continue their progression off the field.

There were a number of different parties who were against the decision to turn the Melwood site into a housing complex with lock residents hoping that it could be turned into a community area but permission to build houses on the site and as such, they can earn some cash back which can go towards funding the development of the new facility at Kirkby.
