Sadio Mane can’t wait to to face Everton again
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has revealed that he is looking forward to playing Everton in the Merseyside Derby on Sunday following the 7-0 thrashing of Spartak Moscow in the UEFA Champions League last night, according to a report on the Liverpool Echo.
The Reds were in fine form on Wednesday and Mane can’t wait to attempt to do it all again on Sunday against their arch-rivals.
The Senegalese star scored twice but there has been reports that he is unhappy with being left on the bench occasionally. Mane played down any such reports and insists he is happy and can’t wait to continue scoring for Liverpool.
I’m very happy to play alongside all these great players. I’m enjoying playing with them, they make it easier for me so I’m happy. Without them we are nothing so it’s about everybody. We played fantastic football and we deserved to win because we created many chances and scored without conceding.
The Senegal international is expected to start against Sam Allardyce’s Everton, who will need to find a way to contain the pace and power of Jurgen Klopp’s front line.
Ahead of the game, Mane, who scored in both Derbies last season, said:
It’s an important game for us. We play at home and the fans deserve a win so we’ll do our best to get it.
When the forward players are in such great form, it is difficult to see any side stopping the Reds at the moment.
