Liverpool target Faouzi Ghoulam has insisted he never thought of leaving Napoli this January, despite being linked with a move to the Premier League.
The Algerian full-back was strongly linked with the Reds over the summer and ahead of the upcoming January window, as Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp looks to sort out his long-term solution to his left-back issues.
However, with a fee around £35 million thought to be ready to offer, Ghoulam has now signed a new deal with the Italian side, putting to bed his rumours of leaving Napoli.

Talking to the media after signing a new deal, Ghoulam said:
I never thought of leaving. I had decided to stay at Napoli a long time ago, the directors knew I never thought of leaving.
The full-back has made over 150 appearances for Napoli since joining from French side St Etienne in four years ago.
Klopp is still thought to be on the hunt for a left back in the January window, with James Milner currently filling in for the injured Alberto Moreno, with Andy Robertson also an option for Klopp.
