West Brom hoping to sign Danny Ings in January
New West Brom manager Alan Pardew will meet with his club’s technical director Nick Hammond at the end of this week to discuss potential targets for January and, according to John Percy of the Telegraph, one of the players he is hoping to sign is Liverpool’s Danny Ings.
The 25-year-old has missed almost all of the last two seasons due to injury but he’s back fit again, as proven when he made a rare appearance from the substitutes bench during Sunday’s Merseyside Derby.
Ings finds himself behind Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke in the pecking order a Anfield and it looks like he might have to move on if he is to get the regular first-team action that he is after.
Whether Jurgen Klopp is willing to let him leave remains to be seen, especially as there are still question marks about Sturridge’s future at Liverpool, but if the Reds are willing to let him go, either permanently or on loan, Pardew will be one of the managers hoping to recruit him as he prepares for the challenge of keeping Albion in the Premier League.
