Klopp: Salah must continue his form
Liverpool’s record signing Mohamed Salah has been sensational this season, netting 20 goals in all competitions this season. He has been an integral player for the Reds since signing.
In Liverpool’s rampant win over AFC Bournemouth earlier this afternoon, Salah scored his 14th Premier League goal as his red hot form continued.
Jurgen Klopp, as quoted by the Independent, has highlighted to Salah the importance of him keeping up this magical form for the remainder of the season.
Salah has arguably been the signing of the season in the Premier League but Klopp is wary that this is just the beginning for the Egyptian as he looks to build on his fine start at Anfield.
Speaking about the summer signing following his impressive first half of the campaign, Klopp expressed his thoughts.
I do not go to bed at night, thinking ‘wow how good is Salah? He is a very important player for us, like all of the others. It is only halfway through the season. I am looking forward that he stays in that shape, still plays like this.
Mo knows how much I respect and like him. He is finding it easy at the moment to finish situations.
Liverpool put in a brilliant performance at the Vitality Stadium as goals from Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino helped them back into the top four ahead of their trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal on Friday night.
Klopp also said that his side have still got plenty to play for despite being a long way off league leaders Manchester City.
We have so much to play for. It’s unbelievable how many points you will probably need at the end of the season to get anything.
“Everybody is winning up there very often so we need to carry on all the time and stay on track. It feels like a lot of teams are in good shape.
