Liverpool bounced back in style after a disappointing week. Jurgen Klopp’s men thumped Bournemouth 4-0 down on the south coast.
Philippe Coutinho opened the scoring for the Reds in the first-half with a terrific solo goal. Cutting in from the left wing, the Brazilian displayed his magic.
Dejan Lovren headed home after some good work from Roberto Firmino to double the away side’s lead.
Mohamed Salah ensured Liverpool went into the break three goals to the good with a fantastic solo goal.
Roberto Firmino completed the scoring after some good work from Coutinho, who crossed for his compatriot to head home.
A very emphatic and impressive performance from the Reds means that they climb above Burnley and Arsenal in the table into fourth.
Liverpool now go to Arsenal on Friday night in a game that could be a very important one for the fight for the Champions League spot.
Here’s how I rated the individual performances from the Reds:
Simon Mignolet - 6
Mignolet came back in the side today and did well. Didn’t have too much to do and that’s always a good thing.
Joe Gomez - 6
Gomez has been outstanding recently and another solid performance from the English international means he gets a 6.
Dejan Lovren - 8
Thought he was excellent today. His goal shows real determination and bravery. I thought he defended well from the start also. It certainly helped that Bournemouth weren’t attacking at their best.
Ragnar Klavan - 6
Klavan was solid. Again, he wasn’t tested too much and that’ll please Jurgen Klopp massively.
Andy Robertson - 7
I was really impressed with Robertson. His work rate is superb and he was popping up all over the pitch at times and that energy as a full-back is crucial nowadays.
Jordan Henderson - 7
I’m really pleased with Henderson’s performance today. The captain has been criticised a lot recently and I think he was excellent today. He seemed to be running around a lot more and that’s the best and most effective part of his game, I believe.
Gini Wijnaldum - 6
Did the basics right and that’s what he was told to do. Didn’t get forward too much and let the others get on with it. A very selfless and effective performance from the Dutch international.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - 9
His best performance in a Liverpool shirt, for me. Very close to being my man of the match. He had such an impact on Liverpool’s attacking play today and was very unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
Philippe Coutinho - 10
Man of the match. The Brazilian was outrageous today. He looked at his best. His goal was one of his best for the Reds and his overall performance was the difference today.
Mohamed Salah - 9
Salah gave Charlie Daniels such a hard time today. Defenders simply cannot get close to him when he cuts in on that left foot. It’s obvious what he’s going to do but stopping it is a whole different story. His goal was tremendous.
Roberto Firmino - 9
Firmino with yet another brilliant performance. His header was very instinctive and well taken. His work rate, as always, was amazing.
