Liverpool alerted by Teixeira situation
Liverpool have reportedly been put on red alert, with Alex Teixeira set to be offloaded by Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning.
According to the Tuttosport, as covered by the Daily Mail, the Brazilian playmaker is surplus to requirements at his current club and it’s looking increasingly likely that he will leave in the near future.
Liverpool were heavily linked with Teixeira in the summer of 2016 but no move materialised, as he eventually opted to join Jiangsu in a big money move.
Teixeira has failed to properly settle in China and has simply failed to replicate his form that he previously displayed while playing for Shakhtar Donetsk.
Liverpool are not short of creative options but Teixeira is understood to be a long-standing target for the Reds, who could yet aim to bolster their squad in the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old represented his native Brazil seven times at Under-20 level, but has not yet been called on by the senior side.
