Liverpool secured yet another important victory in the Premier League today as they defeated Burnley 2-1.
The Reds travelled to Turf Moor without Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho, both of whom have been in excellent form of late.
Jurgen Klopp heavily rotated his side following their 2-1 win against Leicester as a result of the congested fixture list, but the Reds ground out a tightly-contested three points at Burnley.
Liverpool took the lead in the second-half through a powerful drive from Sadio Mane. Burnley equalised in the 87th minute, though, as Johann Berg Gudmundsson netted.
However, there was another twist in the tale still to come, and it was Liverpool who came away with the spoils. Ragnar Klavan connected with Dejan Lovren’s ball across goal to clinch a 94th minute winner for the travelling Reds, sending the away fans into raptures.
Here’s how we rated Liverpool’s players in their incredibly important win at Burnley today.
Simon Mignolet - 7
Mignolet had a good game. He had little to do on the day but made a great save to deny Vokes.
Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7
After a shaky early start, he improved as the game went on. Alexander-Arnold enjoyed a strong second-half.
Dejan Lovren - 9
Lovren was exceptional. He won everything in the air, played with pragmatism and looked much improved.
Ragnar Klavan - 8
Could have done better to prevent the equaliser but had a really good game. His late winner could prove to be crucial.
Joe Gomez - 7
Faultless until the goal. He lost concentration and allowed Gudmundsson to ghost in.
Emre Can - 7
Was generally impressive. He played well at both ends of the pitch and despite some sloppy turnovers, performed well.
Gini Wijnaldum - 7
With the exception of him missing a good chance to score, Wijnaldum had a tidy game. He did the simple things right and kept play ticking over.
Adam Lallana - 7
Contributed with some neat touches in the first half and although he slowly faded in the second half due to a lack of match fitness, he looked sharp.
Sadio Mane - 8
Started quite poorly but burst into life in the second-half. His goal was very impressive.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - 8
He played very well, once again. He was extremely bright throughout and was threatening.
Dominic Solanke - 6
Worked hard but just doesn’t look ready quite yet.
