RB Leipzig have confirmed that Naby Keita will remain with the Bundesliga team until the end of the season.

Keita has agreed a deal to join Liverpool at the end of the season but reports suggested the Reds wanted to bring the deal forward into January.

It looked as if Liverpool had got their wish when the player registered an NK8 company in England but Leipzig have dismissed any suggestion of the player leaving.

Following the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona and Emre Can’s future at Anfield still uncertain, Liverpool are in the market for a central midfielder.

Keita is due to join Liverpool in the summer after a deal was agreed in advance. The midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer, but the two clubs could not agree on terms.
