Liverpool and Real Madrid target Timo Werner will remain at RB Leipzig both this summer and next season, according to sporting director Ralf Ragnick, as reported by Team Talk.

Werner has been the main man at Leipzig for a while, next to Emil Forsberg and soon-to-be Liverpool midfielder, Naby Keita and it looks like Liverpool are interested in snapping up another Leipzig talisman in Werner.

Last campaign, he bagged 21 goals and he hasn’t failed to carry on that form into this season, as he has bagged 10 goals in 20 games, which explains why both Liverpool and Madrid are interested.

Ragnick has played down the reports.

Timo definitely knows he is still playing with us now and next season, We are also in talks to adjust and extend his contract.

As the German’s future looks up in the air at Leipzig, the striker will just want to focus on carrying on his great run of form to get into Germany’s World Cup squad for the end of the season.
