Liverpool target Stefan de Vrij will not be renewing his contract at Lazio in the near future and will depart the club in the summer.
The Netherlands international has long been linked with a mvoe to Anfield and it seems the Reds will have a strong chance of landing him this summer, with Lazio’s sporting director Igli Tare confirming De Vrij will depart the club.

Liverpool signed Virgil van Dijk, a compatriot of De Vrij, in January as they aimed to remedy their defensive issues. However, with news emerging that the Lazio man will be available for transfer this summer, they could be tempted to move for him once again.

De Vrij has been a key player in Simone Inzaghi’s side this season and has impressed over the course of the last few campaigns. He has established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A and will undoubtedly attract plenty of interest in the upcoming transfer window.
Liverpool will face competition if they are to move for De Vrij, though. Manchester United and Manchester City are two of many clubs to have previously been linked with the Dutchman.
