Liverpool are one of the teams eyeing up a summer move for Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to reports.
The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Valencia, who paid €10m to get him for the season, but they are unsure whether to stump up the further €25m it would take to make the move permanent.
Despite being in an excellent position in La Liga, Valencia are still in a poor financial state and even if they do qualify for the Champions League as expected, they still might find it difficult to come up with the necessary funds to keep Kondogbia on a permanent deal.
Liverpool are likely to be in the market for another player who can play in the deepest role in their midfield three as Emre Can looks set to depart on a free transfer and Kondogbia could certainly fit into that position seamlessly.
Whilst his spell at Inter didn’t go too well, Kondogbia was exceptional at Monaco and has been very good for Valencia too, so it’s easy to see why the Reds could be interested in him.
