Liverpool have reportedly taken an interest in Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles.
According to a report from the Newcastle Chronicle, the Reds are among a host of Premier League clubs to have been keeping tabs on Lascelles as he continues to impress in the North-East.
The former Nottingham Forest defender has been a key man for Rafa Benitez over the course of the last two seasons and has established himself as the captain of Newcastle.
Lascelles has been a bright spark in what has been a somewhat underwhelming campaign for the Magpies and his performances are seemingly being noticed.

The centre-back put pen to paper on a six-year deal at Newcastle earlier on this season but his wages are understood by the Chronicle to only be worth around £35,000 per week. This is touted as a potential problem for the Magpies in their aim to retain his services, given the financial prowess of the top English clubs.
Liverpool signed Virgil van Dijk from Southampton for a world-record fee for a defender in January but they appear to still be on the lookout for defensive options ahead of next season.
Chelsea have also been heavily linked with a move for Lascelles, who will hope to play his part in keeping Newcastle afloat in the Premier League this season.
