Dani Ceballos wants to make a move to Liverpool
Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos wanted to join Liverpool in the winter, according to Spanish journalist Cristobal Soria, who has a close relationship with the midfielder.
Ceballos is desperate to start playing regular football but with the likes of Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric ahead of him in the pecking order at the European champions, he’s finding it tough to get a sufficient amount of action.
He’ made just seven league appearances this season, and is yet to play a full 90 minutes as he’s either being brought on from the bench or being substituted when he starts.
Ceballos, who was said to be humiliated at being brought on for 28 seconds last night, is unhappy at Madrid and Soria told El Chiringuito TV that he was keen to join the Reds in January. He said:
Ceballos wanted to go to Liverpool in winter and the club wouldn’t let him. Something’s going on.
He went on to say that the Spaniard is doing all he can to get more game time.
He works and sacrifices himself as the most. That’s why he doesn’t understand. But he wants to keep fighting.
Liverpool, despite signing Naby Keita, are likely to be in the market for another midfielder in the summer and Ceballos could be the man they target.
