Inter chief denies deal is in place for Reds target de Vrij
Inter director Piero Ausilio has played down suggestions that the club has a deal in place to sign Liverpool target Stefan de Vrij.
Football Italia reports that Ausiolio is giving little away about the club’s summer transfer plans.
I cannot confirm something like that. I can only talk about Inter and our players.
De Vrij is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with Liverpool, Inter, Juventus and Manchester United in recent months.
After failing to agree on a new deal at the club, the defender is widely expected to leave Lazio in the summer, with Inter leading the chase.
The 26-year-old Dutch international had been earmarked by the Reds as a potential partner for his fellow countryman Virgil van Dijk.
With no transfer fee involved in the deal, de Vrij is not going to be short suitors by the end of the season.
Despite concerns over his future, the defender has impressed in the Lazio defence this season as his side push for Champions League qualification.
