Liverpool’s pursuit of Roma goalkeeper Alisson appears to be hanging in the balance, with the club unwilling to meet the Serie A side’s valuation of the player.
The Reds have been closely following Alisson’s progress between the sticks for Roma this season and have been impressed by the Brazilian international’s recent displays.
He has been one of Serie A’s most impressive goalkeepers and this has seemingly pique Liverpool’s interest.
However, according to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds will not pursue a deal for Alisson due to Roma’s rather extravagant valuation of the shot-stopper. It’s thought that the Italian outfit will demand a fee close to £80m for the 25-year-old; a price Liverpool are unwilling to pay.
It is because of this that Liverpool have apparently informed Alisson’s representatives that they will not be making a bid for him in the summer due to the asking price along with the recent improvement of Loris Karius.
