Liverpool have been drawn against Manchester City in the quarter final of the UEFA Champions League.

The first leg, to be played at Anfield, will take place on the April 4th, with the second leg taking place at the Etihad on the 10th. There’s also the small matter of a Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park sandwiched in between the two fixtures, on April 8th.

The Reds qualified for the quarter final stage by hammering Porto 5-0 in Portugal, before playing out a comfortable 0-0 draw in the return leg, whilst City comfortably defeated Basel 4-0 in their first leg, so the 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture meant very little.

The Reds went through the entire group stage unbeaten and will be confident of getting through to the semi finals.

The last time the Reds faced City was back in January when the Reds came out as 4-3 winners in a thrilling encounter, although the meeting before that was at the Etihad, a game City won 5-0 as Liverpool had Sadio Mane sent off.

The other fixtures of the quarter final stage are as follows:

Barcelona v Roma

Sevilla v Bayern Munich

Juventus v Real Madrid
